We are glad to inform you about the publication of the Spring edition of the e-IRG newsletter and about the next open e-IRG Workshop.
The next e-IRG Open Workshop, which is organised in the framework of the Maltese EU Presidency of the Council of the European Union, will take place in St Paul's Bay, Malta, on 8-9 June 2017. The main theme of the workshop is long-term sustainability of e-Infrastructures. Sessions will address structure and funding, services and data. A dedicated session will deal with the assessment of e-Infrastructures and the development of related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The Spring edition of the e-IRG newsletter is now available for download.
Highlights include summaries of the e-IRG Delegates Meetings and e-IRG Workshop in Bratislava; the publications of the e-IRG Roadmap 2016 and the "Guide to e-Infrastructure requirements for European Research Infrastructures; interviews with Roadmap working group Chair Erik Fledderus about the importance of dialogue in realising the e-IRG Roadmap vision; with the former and new e-IRG Chair; with ASTRON HPC researcher Chris Broekema on data crunching with the Square Kilometre Array; with Andy Götz from the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility about their role as go-between for the e-Infrastructures and user communities; with Dimitrios Koureas from the Natural History Museum in London about bridging socio-cultural distance in science through technical community-engaging mechanisms; with Ronald Stolk from the Medical Center at the University of Groningen about the Health-RI initiative; with Natalia Manola from the OpenAire project about Open Research Data guidelines, publication and training; with GEANT CEO Steve Cotter about backbone infrastructure, service deployment and KPI development; with Fernando Pérez from the University of California about rethinking the reward structure for computational tool developers; and many more.
